Biography: Dr. Galor is a cornea and uveitis trained specialist with a dual appointment at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and the Miami VA medical center. Paula Sepulveda Beltran, M.D.

Dr. Paula A. Sepulveda Beltran is a medical graduate from Rosario University in Bogota, Colombia, and a Research Associate at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Under the guidance of Dr. Anat Galor, she has spearheaded pioneering research focused on investigating the nerves and neural pathways that underpin ocular pain.

Nicole Kantor, B.S.

Nicole Kantor is an ocular surface research associate at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She is currently a medical student at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine who graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. While working under the guidance of Dr. Anat Galor, Nicole has been involved in research projects exploring Ocular Graft-Versus-Host Disease and ocular symptoms after refractive surgery.

Elyana Locatelli, B.S.

Elyana is an ocular surface research associate under the guidance of Dr. Anat Galor. Since graduating magna cum laude from Florida Atlantic University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences, she has been involved in several research projects focused on dry eye disease and ocular pain. Currently, her primary research undertaking is the biomarkers of ocular symptoms after refractive surgery study at Bascom Palmer’s LASIK and Laser Vision Center.

Simran Mangwani-Mordani, M.D., M.Sc.

Dr. Simran Mangwani-Mordani is an ocular surface research associate at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She earned her medical degree and master’s in science from Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City. Over the course of several years, her research has focused on delving into the intricate aspects of dry eye disease and neuropathic ocular pain, working under the guidance of Dr. Anat Galor.

David Valdes, M.D.

Dr. David Valdes, MD (Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá, Colombia), an ocular surface research associate at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, investigates the mechanisms of chronic dry eye and photophobia. He strives to improve the quality of life for individuals struggling with these debilitating conditions.
