A Day In the Life of a Pro-team Sports Medicine Doctor

Days begin early and end late for Dr. Lee Kaplan, director of the University of Miami Sports Medicine Institute. In addition to caring for patients from all walks of life, he also cares for elite athletes as the head team physician and medical director for the Miami Marlins and Miami Hurricanes. We invite you to shadow Dr. Kaplan for a day, from clinic, to surgery, to the Marlins Spring Training.

Inspiring Futures

Sports participation and other leadership opportunities have the ability to change students' lives. The Annual Student Leadership Day, a free event for high school students to learn about the important role they can play in the lives of others, is sponsored by the University of Miami Sports Medicine Institute. “We want to teach them how to use sports and activities make better choices and get ahead in life,” said Dr. Kaplan, director.
