Dr. Traeger’s research, supported by the NIH, American Cancer Society, and American Lung Association, includes studies to integrate evidence-based, patient-centered behavioral interventions into cancer care delivery. This work focuses on enhancing patient skills for adhering to complex treatment regimens and survivorship challenges and optimizing health outcomes. Team science and qualitative and mixed methods are used to identify and prioritize multi-level intervention strategies with combined scientific rigor and high clinical relevance. Populations of specific interest include older adults and patients managing complex regimens. Topics of specific interest include medical adherence, resilience, quality of life, and quality of care among patients and families.
