Shared Resources

Shared resources provide access to technologies, products, services, and expertise that facilitate interaction between researchers and enhance scientific productivity.

The Sylvester Shared Resources (SRs) catalyze cancer research by providing access to cost-effective, state-of-the-art research instruments and services. The SRs support transdisciplinary research with a high-level of expertise, advanced technologies, and a comprehensive array of services for genomics, flow cytometry and optical imaging, biostatistics and bioinformatics, biospecimen/biorepository, cancer modeling, and behavioral and community-based research. A proteomics shared resource is in the process of being established. The SRs provide coordinated services for project design, data generation and data analysis, and facilitate research rigor and reproducibility by using best practices, quality assessment and quality control protocols, and robust data management. The SR also offer seminars, workshops, consultation and training to optimize the use of the SRs by faculty, trainees, and staff. Integrated multi-SR services promote multidisciplinary interactions and collaborations among Sylvester's four research programs.
