2023 Sylvester Cancer Survivorship Symposium
The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center’s second annual conference offered concurrent scientific and patient/caregiver tracks and attracted more than 300 attendees.
Annual Virtual Survivorship Celebration Event
A celebration of Cancer Survivors is held annually. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the cancer survivorship journey with other survivors and their loved ones. The celebration includes speakers, music, and the opportunity to meet with healthcare providers.
2022 Inaugural Sylvester Cancer Survivorship Symposium
The Inaugural Sylvester Cancer Survivorship Symposium took place on November 11, 2022, at the THēsis Hotel Miami. The event featured speakers on survivorship topics ranging from symptom burden and quality of life in survivorship, disparities in survivorship outcomes, survivorship care coordination and technology implementation in supportive and survivorship care delivery.

Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) & Living Proof
The Miami Dolphins are a proud partner of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC) to support their mission to reduce the human burden from cancer through research, education, prevention, and the delivery of quality patient care. Launched in 2010, DCC participants can ride, walk, run or volunteer in the effort to raise funds for cancer research at the SCCC.
Cure by Design Miami is an event in which corporate community joins forces with local designers and cancer survivors to benefit the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives, celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer. The highlight of the evening is a program that celebrates local Sylvester cancer survivors of all ages and of all cancer types, who share their inspirational journal and rock the runway.
Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer Celebration
In partnership with the Miami Dolphins, The American Cancer Society and the NFL, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center takes part in the Crucial Catch celebration for cancer survivors in order to support the fight against cancer. Festivities included a brunch held for cancer survivors and their families, the Crucial Catch Halftime show where survivors were honored, and a check presentation to the Cancer Center.
As part of the Survivorship Provider Learning series, we invite experts in relevant cancer survivorship-related fields to bring knowledge and awareness to medical providers in order to better serve their patients’ survivorship needs. Experts range from clinical specialties to research investigators in order to expose providers to survivorship topics of interest.
We also offer educational modules intended for primary care providers when working with oncology patients in specific site disease groups including diversity, survivorship care, and available resources.
