How do I make an appointment?
Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center offers several convenient options to request an appointment.

  • New Patients
    Please call 1-844-324-HOPE (4673).

  • Current Patients
    If you’re an existing Sylvester patient in need of a follow-up appointment, please call the Physician Referral Office at 305-243-5757 or 800-432-0191. Appointments can generally be made from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday. Alternately, you can request an appointment online with one of our cancer specialists by filling out our secure online appointment form.

  • International Patients
    If you’re an international patient, please call UHealth International at 305-243-9100 or 877-442-8676 or you can learn more by visiting International Patients.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Does Sylvester offer help for the hearing or visually impaired?
Yes. Auxiliary aids, services, and interpreters are available upon request. If you need assistance in this regard, please call 305-243-4000.

Do you offer interpreter or translation services?
Yes. We know the importance of communicating effectively with patients of all cultures and languages. Check out Interpreter Services for more information.

How long does an appointment last?
This varies, depending on what type of appointment you have and with what department. Please ask your doctor’s office for specific information.

How do I cancel my appointment?
Please call your Sylvester doctor’s office at least 24 hours before your appointment, or 305-243-5757 for more information.

Does Sylvester treat my cancer? I do not see the cancer with which I have been diagnosed.
Often, specialties can have various names. Most likely, we do treat your cancer. Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of the leading cancer centers in the country. Please call our New Patient phone number to find out more at 305-243-5302 or 877-243-1056.

How can I find out about your doctors before my visit?
Find the expert care you need. Visit the Find a Doctor page, and enter the type of doctor you need in the search field. Each doctor has a page about their background and experience, board certifications, and other details.

Do any of your facilities have pharmacies?
Yes, all the hospitals on the University of Miami Medical Campus have pharmacies, including Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Some of the Sylvester satellite facilities also have pharmacies. Find more about a particular facility’s conveniences.

Do your hospitals and medical centers have chapels or other worship sites?
There are interfaith chapels at University of Miami Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. You can find more information about facility amenities on each hospital’s location page.

Are there cafeterias or other places to eat at your facilities?
Yes, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has a cafeteria. There are also other eating options. Learn more on our location pages.

Does Sylvester offer free wireless Internet access?
Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available inside and outside of most buildings. To access the Internet, look for the Medical Wireless or CanesGuest network on your computer.

Where do I park, and how much does parking cost?

Does Sylvester accept my insurance?

How do I access my medical records?
You can conveniently see all your medical information online with the secure MyUHealthChart. For instructions on how to order physical medical records, visit the Medical Records page.

Do I qualify for a clinical trial?
Translating research breakthroughs into more effective treatments is one of Sylvester’s highest priorities. It is best to discuss your specific case with your Sylvester oncologist. Where can I find the hospitals quality reporting program measures?
Under the PPS-Exempt Cancer Hospital Quality Reporting (PCHQR) Program, PPS-exempt cancer hospitals submit data to CMS on the following measures for public reporting: Cancer-Specific Treatment Measures, Oncology Care Measures, a Clinical Effectiveness Measure, and the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) Survey.
