Current Opportunities

Cancer Biology Post Doctoral Position
A postdoctoral position is available to study epigenetic mechanisms of leukemogenesis. We are seeking for highly motivated molecular or cancer biologists to join a comprehensive cancer epigenetics program. The successful candidate will be involved in the functional characterization of epigenetic abnormalities associated with leukemia in order to determine how these contribute to disease initiation and maintenance. Prior experience in hematopoiesis/leukemia models, molecular biology, cancer genetics or epigenetics, and/or development of animal models is required. It is expected that the candidate will have the ability to work independently, design experiments with appropriate controls, collect and tabulate data, publish and present results, as well as to participate in the training of graduate and rotation students in a research laboratory setting. Projects will include in vivo and in vitro modeling of candidate genes to identify epigenetically silenced genes that contribute to the development of hematopoietic malignancies and characterization of candidate genes using in vitro and in vivo systems.

Requirements:
Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology, cancer biology or related fields. Experience in a research laboratory setting. Evidence of scholarly ability (record of publication in peer-reviewed journals, etc.) Ability to communicate in written and spoken English is absolutely required. Applications should include full curriculum vitae, publication list, information on years of experience in research and laboratory work. Three reference letters, one of them from the Ph.D. advisor, are required. These must be emailed directly by the referees to the email address below. Applications without references will not be considered.

Application Process:
Please submit cover letter, CV, and contact information for 3 references combined into one PDF file by e-mail to: Dr. Maria Figueroa.

Genomics and Epigenomics Postdoctoral Position
A postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated computational biologist to join a comprehensive cancer epigenomics program. The successful candidate will be involved in studying epigenomic regulation and programming during normal and malignant hematopoiesis. Prior experience in normal or malignant genomics and epigenomics data analysis/computational biology is required. Projects will include next-generation sequencing based profiling studies of DNA methylation, hydroxymethylation, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq and RNA-seq to fully characterize epigenetic changes during normal hematopoiesis and in myelodysplastic syndromes. The goal of these studies is to identify epigenetically regulated programs that become deregulated and contribute to the development of hematopoietic malignancies. Applicants should hold a PhD and/or MD degree and have strong computational biology skills. Previous experience with epigenome-wide assays is preferred. It is expected that the candidate will have the ability to work independently, collect and tabulate data, publish and present results, as well as to participate in the training of graduate students in a research laboratory setting.

Requirements:
M.D. or Ph.D. in bioinformatics or computational biology. Evidence of scholarly ability (record of publication in peer-reviewed journals, etc.) Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English is absolutely required.
