Integrated Spatial Multiomics Services

The Sylvester Shared Resources provide coordinated multidisciplinary support for an array of services, including support for spatial multiomics research. The Shared Resources offer a coordinated array of resources for project design, data generation, and data analysis and visualization. This team science approach can significantly facilitate spatial multiomics studies on tumor cell heterogeneity.

Integrated spatial multiomics services that span multiple Shared Resources include:

  • Sample preparation, including tissue acquisition, processing, and embedding
  • Generation of tissue arrays, tissue sectioning, automated immunostaining, and antibody panel validation
  • Data generation using one or more platforms
  • Data analysis and visualization using a variety of tools

Complementary tissue sample preparation services, tissue microarrays generation, and immunostaining services are offered by the Biospecimen Shared Resource (BSSR) and Cancer Modeling Shared Resource (CMSR).

Diverse spatial multiomics data generation and analysis platforms are offered by the Onco-Genomics Shared Resource (OGSR) and Flow Cytometry Shared Resource (FCSR).

  • The OGSR offers 10X Genomics Visium combined with Illumina next generation sequencing for spatial multiomics analysis of fresh-frozen tissue samples, and the Bruker GeoMx and CosMx platforms for spatial multiomics analysis of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue samples. The OGSR also offers the Bruker nCounter for digital quantitation of both nucleic acid and protein expression. Dissociated samples can be used for digital single-cell genomics studies on the 10X Chromium platform to inform Visium data analysis and GeoMx panel design.
  • The FCSR offers spatial multiomics services using a CyTOF Hyperion mass imaging cytometer that can generate highly multiplexed, 40+ parameter images of tissue microarrays at single-cell or subcellular resolution. Related reagents are available through the FCSR, including a repository of validated antibodies-to-human-markers and a heavy metal-antibody custom conjugation service.

The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource (BBSR), in close collaboration with the BSSR, CMSR, OGSR, and FCSR, offers spatial multiomics project design and data analysis consultation, and can build data analysis pipelines for integration of data from different spatial multiomics platforms and from companion single-cell multiomics studies.
